I've searched but can't find satellite photographs of left behind Apollo crafts. I've found stuff that say the Hubble has an aperture setting to photograph deep space that i. There's information that telescopes from earth can't photograph the Moon with enough detail to show the crafts. So now the question is with all the satellites and space crafts, Mars missions, Jupiter crafts that are sent, do the people of Earth have satellite photographs of our different Earth crafts from the Apollo missions on the Moon? A lot of times these type of questions turn into debates over the Moon landing being a hoax or not. The believers are able to refute all the hoax claims except for the fact that Apollo astronauts had to have faced severe radiation which current astronauts do not face as they remain inside Earth's magnetic field. Regardless of hoax or not, are there satellite pictures of the Apollo craft on the Moon? Yes or No? If Yes, where are the pics? If No, why haven't they been taken?

The link below is about more space rocks hitting the moon's surface. Now the article says they started monitoring this a year ago. If NASA is serious about sending man to the Moon again and creating colonies on the moon why not go back to previous landing site to see if these craft still remain in tact after all these years of sitting there. Are they confident that they landed in protected areas that are impervious to space rocks for over 30 yrs? This would give them the ability in calculating the probability of damage towards new landers and colonies and designing new material, craft, etc. That being said new pictures will face the scrutiny of claims of being doctored. But what led all the obvious non-conspiracy believers to think I am a hoax believer. All answers received seemed defensive but supported with their evidence. I don't believe any side of any story until irrefutable evidence is available specially when there are questions being asked from another perspective.

India and China going to the moon supposedly before NASA plans to go back. Looks like this will be the evidence to end it all and the proof for ppl like me to chose a side. No one says or thinks Moon walks/landing is not possible in this day and age. Plus India is not know for sparing its politicians like Nixon. Law protects powerful Americans from even the most outrageous stuff, not the case in the rest of the world. Because America functions in a certain way has no reflection on the way the people of the world function.

Thank you for all the answers and all the details in all of your answers. Regardless of your perspective, they all help in showing the different views this topic raises from the hardcore science guys to the general knowledge ppl. I doubt I'm the only one that thinks this way..so hopefully this answers others like me, else this is helping me in choosing a side.
Thanks again and keep the answers coming, the more the better, majority usually rules :)

The Hubble Space Telescope is as good as it gets. It would to be 10 times larger than it is in order to see the bases of the six lunar landers left behind. Yes, it does have an aperture setting for deep space photography. However, "aperture" affects the amount of light entering the telescope, not the resoultion. Furthermore, why would probes bound for Mars or Jupiter waste time photographing the Moon?

The Van Allen radiation belts are not strong to hurt anyone in the 30 minutes it took to pass through them.

1) Twelve 12 American astronauts have walked on the moon.

Apollo 11: Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin
Apollo 12: Pete Conrad & Alan Bean
Apollo 13: << failed to land on the moon >>
Apollo 14: Alan Shepard & Edgar (Ed) Mitchell
Apollo 15: David Scott & James Irwin
Apollo 16: John Young & Charles Duke
Apollo 17: Eugene (Gene) Cernan & Harrison Schmidt

2) Why haven't we been back?

a) American astronauts visited the moon on six occasions.

b) The "moon race" was an extension of the cold war. It was mostly about national prestige. We got there first and achieved our primary objective. There was some good science: surveys, measurements, sample collection. But it was mostly about being there first. Once we achieved our primary objective, there was no political will to go back. There still isn't. Perhaps, if we discover He3 or something else valuable, there will be.

c) I used to travel to Crested Butte, Colorado every year to ski. Because I don't go anymore, does it mean that I never went?

3) What about the Van Allen radiation belts? Wouldn't it have killed the astronauts?

The existence of the Van Allen radiation belts postulated in the 1940s by Nicholas Christofilos. Their existence was confirmed in *1958* by the Explorer I satellite launched by the USA.

The radiation in the Van Allen radiation belts is not particularly strong. You would have to hang out there for a week or so in order to get radiation sickness. And, because the radiation is not particularly strong, a few millimeters of metal is all that is required for protection. "An object satellite shielded by 3 mm of aluminum will receive about 2500 rem (25 Sv) per *year*."

"In practice, Apollo astronauts who travelled to the moon spent very little time in the belts and received a harmless dose. [6]. Nevertheless NASA deliberately timed Apollo launches, and used lunar transfer orbits that only skirted the edge of the belt over the equator to minimise the radiation." When the astronauts returned to Earth, their dosimeters showed that they had received about as much radiation as a couple of medical X-rays.

4) The U.S. government scammed everyone?

In 1972, there was a politically motivated burglary of a hotel room in the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. There were only about six or eight people who knew about it. However, those people, including Richard M. Nixon, the President of the United States, failed to keep that burglary a secret. It exploded into a scandal that drove the President and a number of others from office.

If six or eight people couldn't keep a hotel room burglary a secret, then how could literally thousands of people could have kept their mouths shut about six faked moon landings? Not just one moon landing, but six of them!

5) What about the USSR?

Even if NASA and other government agencies could have faked the six moon landings well enough to fool the general public, they could NOT have fooled the space agency or military intelligence types in the USSR. The Soviets were just dying to beat us. If the landings were faked, the Soviets would have re-engineered their N-1 booster and landed on the moon just to prove what liars Americans are. Why didn't they? Because the landings were real and the Soviets knew it.

6) Why does the flag shake? Where are the stars? Who took the video of Neil Armstrong?

Take a look at the first two websites listed below. They deal well with all of the technical questions.

7) Finally, please tell us what you would accept as definitive evidence that the six moon landings were real. Is there anything?

No, we don't have any telescopes with that kind of resolution or any orbiting the moon at the moment. The hubble space telescope could only resolve an area on the moon about the size of a football field - the lunar lander was much smaller than that. However, you CAN see the mars rovers from images of the Mars Global Surveyor - how cool is that?

You don't want to take a vacation in the van allen belts, but a short trip through them isn't too harmful. Like running through the rain to your house as opposed to lying down on the sidewalk.

The astronauts left a reflecting mirror behind on the moon. You can find a powerful laser and bounce if off of the moon to see for yourself that we landed.

Mate, that is simply bizarre. I recognize that many humans have no idea plenty approximately house journey, that is satisfactory, however I have no idea in which all that stuff got here from. The quantity of house among Earth and moon is sizeable. I use that phrase when you consider that it offers the exceptional concept of measurement, however even then, such a lot humans do not use it within the experience I imply. The probabilities of seeing some other item are, good, astronomically small. The spacecraft was once journeying eleven kilometres in keeping with moment. Any different item could had been relocating in one other course additionally at a prime velocity. If the spacecraft had "hit" a marshmallow at that velocity it could had been disastrous. It's now not like Star Wars in which big ships transfer in stately style and will wave to one another as they cross, much more so the better they're. "I suppose any one at the group (a best chief) killed the man or woman . . ." There had been 3 guys within the group, dwelling and dealing in a detrimental assignment in an subject the dimensions of an usual bed room. They have been coaching in combination for months and knew each and every different's personalities backwards, as they had to when you consider that their lives trusted it.They had been in regular touch with assignment manipulate. And do not you consider the absence of a group member could had been spotted and wondered, or do you reckon they did not trouble counting what number of blokes they shoved into the pill? Again, at the same time I do not consider everybody will have to have a competencies of house journey, do not we all know the change among Apollo and The Jetsons? If I did not understand larger, I'd say you are all on this in combination, making plans ridiculous solutions with the intention to finish up a few geek like me and get a upward thrust out of me. Except even that's not precise, when you consider that I dont suppose in conspiracies. There's a well motive you "are not able to discover some thing in this". Looking ahead in your form desires.

No there isn't. There are pictures from the spacecrafts as they left though.

The reason why is that it would take a special telescope and lens to be able to focus on the moon surface. Something similar to spy satellites, but focused on the moon.

Why would we want to spend money to spy on a dead rock? Just to try to satisfy crazy conspirators? They'd just claim the photos were doctored anyway.

Well Clementine, the Army probe that explored the Moon in the early 90s took photographs where you can see the Apollo site. However, the landing site that I saw was very faint.

why would you waste the money to take a picture of a lunar lander when some nut would say it was staged anyway???
