Before replacing the heater core, try flushing it out. If you or the previous owner put "stop leak" in there it may be clogged.
Just detach one heater hose and put a garden hose in there. Detach the other and put it in a bucket or something. Turn the hose on and let it run for 30 seconds. Put it back together and see if you get any heat. You can check the bucket for sediments to confirm the problem.
Not related to the A/C. Just bad luck.

The AC problem could be aynthing from a freon leak to a bad compressor/compressor clutch to a blown fuse.
The heater problem is either no water in the radiator, or a stuck/bad thermostat, or a stuck/bad heater control valve (controls water flow to heater core from the radiator).

i own a repair shop, and you need to check the thermostat in it to make sure its getting hot enough to give off heat,,if it is,,id check to see if both heater hoses are hot,,this means it going through the heater core,,if that's OK on it check and make sure the main control unit is opening the right vents on it to allow the heat to enter the car,,i do a lot of jeep repairs at my shop, and its usually the thermostat on most of them,as for the air conditioner,,its probably just low on freon ,,good luck,i hope this help,s...have a good x-mas.

Sounds like you need a new heater core! Anything leaking? Is your fan motor working or is the air just chilly? If it's not actually blowing, it could be your fan motor. Just guessing. Good Luck!

i very own a restoration save and it must be the thermostat going undesirable in it ,that's the oftentimes going on reason for no longer having any warmth ,you may experience of the heater hoses moving into to the firewall and see if there heating up,if so you're starting to be a foul interior administration unit no longer permitting the warmth to return in to the interior the vehicle, attempt it on defrost and each and all the settings to determine if any of them placed out any factor in any respect,if no longer you will possibly be able to might desire to have a physically powerful mechanic check out it,stable success,i'm hoping this help,s.

Your not going to like this but you have to replace the heater core, it is so hard to get to, it is every mechanics worst nightmare. If you can't live without the heater replace it, do not replace it yourself!!!
