Communism is oppresive. There is a difference between socialism and communism. Socialism means the government takes a greater role in making sure its people are taken care(and it doesn't oppress Christians). Communism is totalitarian rule and oppressive. It takes away human rights. Socialism from what I see tries to make things better.

It isn't about economics as much as civil liberties. China now looks more like a socialist county, than communist country. The economy has been decentralized and private ownership has grown. The problem is socially it is still a very autocratic country. While Japan is a free market and socially liberal county. Japan is more like the US than many European counties. Still because European countries are socially liberal, there is no threat, even if they are socialists.

The reason free market societies, even through many times they are in competition, work together, is they realize it is a mutually beneficial relationship. If the US economy is strong, American consumers buy Japanese products, and vice versa, although there is a trade deficit.

Regarding magnetic attraction, economics and social structure are not physics, and the law of physics don't apply to economics and society.

Another thing is Japan is not a military superpower. In fact, Japan has the protection of the US. Because of WWII, Japan's military has been held in check both internally and externally, so the US has protected their free society.

So why does America want to remove communism? There has not been a true communist government, ever. But the countries that claim to be communist, are typically autocratic and repressive. So yes communism kills the human spirit. It should be obvious communism is a complete failure.

The US is a very religious country and communism is all about atheism and that is something the US will never support which is why they don't like China politically. But US likes China econmically. And no matter how competitive Japan has gotten with the US since WW2 they are a big part of the balance of power in Asia: Japan, S. Korea, & Tiawan vs. China, N. Korea & Russia. And that is more valuable to the US than anything else.

Communism isn't all that bad just America wants us to think that because they need an Enemy. Communism has been around a very long time they trace it back to ancient Babylonia. It is based on the idea of society been equal everyone has a fair chance. Everyone has the same wealth no one lives on the street because everyone has a job! everyone has a house! Its the perfect government it just doesn't work because humans are naturally greedy.

The US government wouldn't personally careless about Communism they just need to generate fear to force people to agree with them and not ask questions. There is no true communist country in the world many say they are and some share some of the ideas but no one follows it completely its not economical and all the government and big companys care about is money!

So many wrongs in this question that I don't know where to start.

First of all. America did not always stand with Japan. In the second world war, American sided with China to fight Japan. Both nationalist and communist China sided with America to fight Japan.

Secondly no one dislikes China for being a communist country. The only thing communist about China any more is the repressiveness and the name they use. For all intents and purposes "to be rich is glorious" is not a communist ideal

America hates communism because the wealth is owned by the government and distributed amongst the entire population.

In capitalism (or neoconservatism these days) the wealth goes to a few people and those people can grab what the middle class and the poor have. (eminent domain).

They also take what resources other nations have through capitalism.

So they don't want those nations to have communism because they can't infiltrate the system and steal the wealth. So the place international embargos against communist governments so they go poor and then they can infiltrate and steal the goods.

Some Americans understand that the enemy of freedom is dictatorships, communism, socialism, etc. Those who oppress want to eliminate freedom and we are it.

The best way to live is with freedom and free markets. The human nature is to want to be free.

China is a threat to America because they supply weapons to Iran. American manufacturing has left to China because of how cheap labor and the standard of living is there.

Communism is evil, it destroys the human spirit. Ever ask yourself, why do people all over the world risk their lives to come to America? How many people are trying to sneak into Cuba, Venezuela or China?
