This will be our first year leaving cookies and milk out for Santa... our daughter is SO excited!! She does worry about Santa eating cookies at EVERY house he goes to and hopes he will still be hungry by the time he gets to us! And she wants to leave carrots for the reindeer as well! I can't wait to see her face in the morning:)

We used to, but that was before our dog kept eating the cookies and our cat drank the milk! Now, we just leave a note for Santa!

Sure, its a great tradition. It's small gesture teaches children the value of giving not just receiving. Children are giving jolly ole Santa milk and cookies, and good ole Santa is giving good little children gifts. The moral is in order to receive one must first give.

When my kids were little, we only left out cookies, the story was always that the milk would be warm by the time Santa came so we never left it.

Oh gooodness we have left so many different things for santa I think the most sincere one would be the hot coco for santa and we also made another bag for him to take with him in case when he got back he was a little chilly and wanted something to drink .We also make cookes and decorated them and always always left rudolph his carrot and some sweet cakes also. Santa has always been seen as jolly and giving and I want my little girl to know it is always better to give than to recive she is excited about santa I mean she is only 2 but she knows santa has alot of people to vist so she is going to this year leave a donation in her name to the abuised and battered women and children cause I told her think about all the people in this world whom are suffering. We should be thankful for what we have.

When I was little, I put out a Dr. Pepper (which I now realize why- it was my Dad's favorite), a cookie and a carrot for Rudolf. I also always made sure the Dr. Pepper had the picture of Santa on it. Made total sense to me.

My little brothers and sisters leave out cookies and milk. My dad leaves them a note telling them it was the best cookies and milk he has had, he also says thanks and have a merry Christmas. I don't think they realize that he picks out the cookies each year and they happen to be peacon short bread cookies. His favorite. They leave out carrots, too. They also insist on a glass of water and veggie dip for them. Just in case.

Yes and carrots for the reindeer. My husband drinks the milk and eats the cookies. The carrots go back in the fridge.
