You always hear of celebs and others coming out as Gay, but how come you never hear anyone saying that they are Bi? That would be a big eye opener for alot of Bigots out there if they knew how many people were Bi.

I'd think it comes down to how gays are not universally accepted, so if someone is bi, they'd have a choice if they want to show if they are, or if they want to keep in the closet and only be seen with people of the opposite sex. Being in the public eye, and needing to keep their popularity, I think most would rather not toy with anyone knowing.

Wow, you know what, I've never thought about that. I would venture to say that there are a lot of bi-sexual people in the entertainment industry. Perhaps there is not benefit to being bi. If they come out as gay, there is always a lot of press attention and gay media surround them with special coverage. Gay means not being able to be discriminated against. But being bi-sexual might not warrant the intense media coverage. Besides, maybe a lot of bi's are trying to keep it quiet so they don't get the attention. The might think it will ruin their careers, especially male actors who want the very masculine roles. Good question, though.

As far as celebs are concerned there are women who kiss other women but they don't consider that bi. I think they just think its a publicity stunt. It is probably easier to come out as gay rather than bi because alot of people believe bi people just can't make up their mind who they prefer..men or women. Some people get angered and its just easier to understand if they are gay or straight. If you are bi some people are confused thinking.. you like men and women?? Others think it is a kewl thing.. all depends on how open minded someone might be i suppose. That is just my opinion :)

Personally, I like both and have a little problem with some people understanding. I guess people are afraid of others making fun of them for being confused? Or being told they're confused? I don't know why folks just can't come out and say it. I'm bi. There.

Actually, Madonna came out as bi in the early '90s when she wrote her Sex book. So did Sandra Bernhardt. And David Bowie. And many others. Check out the link below under Source.

It's much easier for bi people to lead their lives "normally" because they can sort of just hide the "other half" of them in an attempt to save their face.

it's not as dramatic. being gay (sorry if this is offensive to some peoople) is an effective attention-grabber for celebs. and my guess that if they decide to go some of the way, they might as well tell people they went all the way.
