Hamlet acts crazy about Ophelia, which confuses her to the point where SHE goes insane and accidently kills herself

I happen to love Hamlet so I can probably help you out a little bit here.

With Ophilia, Hamlet basically acted like a jackass. He would lead her on to make her think he was in love with her and that she was the only girl for him, then he'd completely flip out on her and tell her flat out that he didn't love her and he coulnd't stand her. The fact remained that he did actually love her and he was just testing her to see if she really cared about him. Unfortunately for him, things didn't work out in his favor which, if you haven't finished the play, you'll find out about later.

The way she responded was to try and shut him out, but at the same time she wanted to trust him and love him. To me, it seemed like she knew he was treating her badly on purpose, but she didn't know how to walk away from him so she just kept taking it.

Obviously with Polonious, Hamlet was always very suspicious and he would try to catch him in lies. A lot of times his anger towards Polonious resulted in him having mental break downs. Polonious was aware that Hamlet was trying to prove he was the murderer of Hamlets father, so he would try to keep him away and at one point, even sent him out of town (if you haven't read that far don't include that so they dont know you're cheating ;-)

Also, Hamlet would use terms like "my Aunt Mother and Uncle Father" to show is disapproval of his mother's marriage to his uncle after the death of his father.

Basically the dude was pissed off and he was letting everyone know about it.

If you're having trouble understanding the play, which is normal because for the most part, I didn't understand what I was reading, watch the Movie with Mel Gibson. It's an excellent portrayal and you'll understand everything 200% better.
