hmmm not sure. My family are a bit of a foul mouth bunch at times anyway, wouldn't want to be a hypocrite. BUT.... if there were very young kids around and it was excessive, then 'yeah' i'd have to step in.

I actually got into a fight with a guy in a restaurant over this very issue. I asked twice, politely, if he could either lower his voice or refrain from the cursing because I had kids with me. The third time I got more angry and they guy started to shove me. Luckily the manager stepped in and asked the person to leave because other people were complaining too. Some people just have no cooth!

It depends on what type of place it was. If it was a really expensive place, I would talk to the maitre d. They would take care of them.
If it was some place like Burger King I would just move to another table.

That really depends.
Where are you eating? Do they seem like they would hurt you for saying something to them?
You could always ask fo rthe manager and have them deal with it, it is part of the job.

If it were interfering with our peace, I'd maybe go up to the restaurant manager and have him/her address the situation.
You never know who's crazy and who's not these days. Especially near a steak knife!

Say nothing, because some people are violent or would try to embarass you. Just have your party moved, or ask the waiter to have the manager tell them to hush.

I would see if there's some bread or orderve (sp- please mind my spelling) on the table and make sure that their mouth was full of it. It's better that you and your table guest are fed up with food without conversation rather than you having to be fed up with them!

Would that work for the situation you've described?
