It makes me think of those raptor lizards from Jarrasic Park, that, when they hiss, they get that huge growth around their necks to come out.

I think it looks somewhat like an Aztec calendar, so it makes me think of the Aztecs.

at first a dark face,,,,,,,,,,,,, (inattentiveness)
then arms,,,,,,(trying to control you)
then a face with eyes,,,,,( watching you, judging you, criticizing you)
then little legs, (that run at the slightest obstacle) representing someone who leaves you, because they are a coward with small legs......
