Q1-What guitar, named after another famous guitarist, is guitar legend Jimmy Page famous for playing?
A1-The Gibson Les Paul Model
Q2-What type of pickup has the highest output, end is designed to produce the least amount of undesirable hum?
A2-The Humbucking pickup.
Q3-What brand of British-made guitar amplifier was made famous by Jimi Hendrix?
A3-The Marshall amplifier.
Q4-How do guitar pickups work?
A4-Pickups consist of permanent magnets which are wrapped by copper wire, which is terminated at the guitar's output jack. The strings are made of steel, and the pickups are placed in close proximity to them. As each string vibrates, it cuts through the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnets, which in turn induces an electric voltage potential in the wire. This voltage potential is of a frequency which matches exactly the frequency of the vibrating string. This electric "signal" is then amplified using the amplifier which drives the speakers which move the air and vibrate the eardrums of the listener.
Q5-What's a whammy bar?
A5-A whammy bar allows the guitarist to relax the tension on the guitar's strings momentarily in order to add variation and color to the sound of the guitar. Famous users of the whammy bar include Eddie Van Halen (known for his "dive bomber" sound), and Jeff Beck, who can create whole musical phrases by picking just one note and creating the rest by skillfully manipulating the whammy bar.

Your daughter should do her own reports and projects, or else she'll be depending on you all through high-school. Trust me, I've seen it before.
Ask a question about how many guitar manufactorers there are in the US and overseas, which band was the first to use the electric guitar, what are some of the wildest designs, what are some accesories that can be added to enhance the sound, how much does it cost an average joe who wants to pick up learning how to play, who has the largest collection of electric guitars, what is the most popular brand, what is the most popular color, how does the look of a guitar affect the look of the band-member playing it...
hope these help!

Hey Mom- let me clue you in on something- your daughter should be doing her own report. You are her parent not her best friend- let her research it on her own. You are teaching her it's ok to do her reports close to the deadline & that you will bail her out by helping her . if she learned to manage her time - she would not be in thei fix. Let her sink or swim- if she misses the deadline , well she will suffer the consequences. You are not always going to be her " parachute" . You do her no favor by helping her.
