a student visa has something to do with if you are not from the united states and you apply to come to the states to work or go to school that gives you a certain amout of time maby 4 years they allow you in the country after then i believe you have to apply for more time to work or school or apply for citizenship..
if you are from the us this does not apply to you

Applying for a student visa refers to those who need to apply to for student status in order to stay in the US for school. Typically, student visas can be worked out through the institution, but then, once you graduate, you go back to the country where you reside. This might not even apply to you if you are a US citizen applying to a US college.

they all answered your visa question, but as for a bridge program, many colleges have them to help underprivileged students make it in college. they provide extra help usually the summer before school starts and into the first year of college - providing a "bridge" to a typical collegiate career.

Applying for a student visa would only apply to you if you aren't an American citizen or if you are going to school overseas.
