You can use a different music file like Limewire then select all/copy the songs and drag them into Itunes. Easy as pie! Be careful that the songs don't have viruses. One of mine did and I ruined my Ipod!

if the music is already on your computer, try dragging and dropping your music files into itunes.
edit: misread the question. Correct, you must have itunes to add music to your ipod.

its annoying but u can enable ur ipod as an external drive and the drag and drop files onto it, but the files have to be aac encoded or the ipod wont take them ur best bet is to go to apple.com and either e-mail them or call them and ask them to send you a disk with the itunes software on it

go to limewire.com
download it
then search ur faav artist and u will gett ur songs on ur
limewire libary now open ur itunes libary then drag ur songs to ur libary while linking ur ipod to the cable and now u have freeeeeee songs dfjghdjhgladsuglkdhglkjdfhksh
