Mostly because they're afraid to face the truth, which would mean having to ultimately deal with the facts. To a lot of people, it's much easier to ignore the inevitable and go on living a so-called existence. I think we have all done it at some point of our lives.... sad but true.

I dont deny the reality that I live my life for the Lord, but that I was also born into sin, so I will most often do less than Christlike things no matte how hard I try. When I die, my soul will inevitably wind up in front of the Lord who will judge my life and place me where He sees fit.

I think that is about as honest as I can get with my life. I deny nothing.

This is a very intelligent question. Because this world is Maya or Illusion. The world of the cheaters and the cheated. If one wants to be cheated then God even allows them to cheat them selves. If one is sincere which is actually rare they will receive the Absolute truth. With such a good question I recommend reading the Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. It can answer all intelligent questions and bring one to reality

Alot of humans live in denial because of procrastination and they can procrastinate because they don't fear for their mortality yet. Once a person reaches that point though when they finally realize that they are not immortal they get in touch with their spirituality and make peace with the ivevitable the best way they can. The sooner we do this the better because only when we make peace with death can we finally start living and stop wasting the time that we'll eventually have too little of.

Fear is always the answer. No matter how true a fact may be, if it affects us badly, we refuse to affirm its existance. Also, there is the factor of the heart over reason. Even if you show people hundreds of studies concerning death, people refuse to face it just because it doesn't seem right to the heart to accept it.

what do you want them to do, ACCEPT it?? i'll assume that the inevitable thing is not a good one, or else the person would accept it. accepting it means resigning yourself to that fate, which involves depression and such bad things.

I don't know. Why do people deny what they know to be true? Why do people defend actions that they've done when they know they're wrong, but yet refuse to admit they're wrong? I don't know. people annoy me often.
