When its hooked to my laptop and I open My Computer, whatdo i do next to empty the mem. stick and delete the pictures. I do not want to save them

Go to My Computer > Yourmemorydisk and double click on it. Hit ctrl+a to select everything and then hit the delete key.

You work just like it was on your regular hard drive - go to My Computer, click on the Memory Stick, and the delete the file as you normally would - however, I would suggest actually deleting the files with the memory stick in the camera since I think I had problems a while back because I deleted the files from the computer.

If you can't delete the files like any other files (dragging to the trash, for example), check to see whether there is a small switch on the stick for "memory protect," and turn that off.
If the stick came from a camera, and you can't find the pictures, you may have to click down into some folders to find them. Usually, pictures are files named Dxxxxx.jpg . Then just drag them to the trash. Good luck!

Go into the stick. You should see a new drive letter there. Just double click it to open it and delete the pictures. DO NOT FORMAT THE STICK. This will permanently get it busted!

Its better to format your memory card through your device, which ever you are using your memory stick for like digital camera, PDA or cell phone. But even if you want to delete the files through yor notebook, go to my computer double click on memory stick and press ctrl+a then press delete there you go...

right click on the files and click delete on the scrolldown menu. If there are more than one, hold down Ctrl while clicking on each of them u want to delete. Then right-click on one of them (the ones u want to delete should be highlighted) and click delete. It will delete all of them.
