I think it is, he is the most deserving person in the WWE. It is laughable when people say that Batista is the best wrestler on Smackdown, roid boy isn't in the same building as Benoit. Let me list you his accomplishments:
World Heavyweight Champion: 1 time
WCW World Heavyweight Champion (yes he won it, they just took it away because he jumped to the WWE right after he got it): 1 time
WWE Intercontinental Champion: 4 times
WWE United States Champion: 3 times
WCW United States Champion: 2 times
WCW World Television Champion: 3 times
WWE World Tag Team Champion: 3 times
WWE Tag Team Champion: 1 time
WCW World Tag Team Champion: 2 times
ECW World Tag Team Champion: 1 time
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion: 1 time
British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Champion: 4 times
Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team Champion: 4 times
2004 Royal Rumble Winner
WWE's Twelfth Triple Crown Champion
WWE's Fifth Grand Slam Champion (although he still hasn't been listed)

He deserves the Title!

I can go all day. Here is more:

The only wrestler ever to retain the WWE or World Title in an Iron Man Match (he beat Triple H).

Has the second longest record of staying in the Royal Rumble, behind Rey Mysterio.

The fastest wrestler to win the WWE United States Championship (25.5 seconds).

Holds the record for quickest title defense, which is 22.5 seconds and he still won!

Chris Benoit has the highest amount of 4 3/4 Star Matches out of anyone in pro wrestling history!

Chris Benoit is also widely considered the "Greatist Submission Wrestler Ever!"

Chris Benoit has already claimed the right to be one of the top 20 all time greatist wrestlers ever, so why not give him the Title a couple of more times because there is no wrestler out there that is better or more deserving than him. In fact he should, by the end of his career (which won't happen for a long time), have at least 8 World Title reigns under his belt and that is a fact!

The list of Benoit's accomplishments are long indeed. He is well deserving of another title run. But You have to understand that Wrestling is a staged event. There are writers that make the show what it is. Right now.. the big draw... the Money maker is Batista and John Cena. Batista and Cena are hot things right now. If you place Benoit as WWE or WOrld Champ... the amount of money the WWE would make would go down. Its unfortunate but true.

A side question would be.. well did WWE lose money when King Booker was champ? No... more people tuned in just to see King booker get his *** kicked! Benoit is a favorite wrestler of mine.. He is awesome. Great in almost every single way... But would he draw more money for WWE than Batista or Cena? sadly... no.

But I can definately see him as ECW champ. But why would he want to be the champ of the third seated show for the WWE?

Bottom line is Benoit does not sell merchandise and has below average charisma and even mic skills. If wrestling was simply sport the answer to this question would be yes, but despite what the smarks want (which I sort of consider myself as), Benoit willnever be a frequent World Champion because WWE would stop making money. Angle was like Benoit in terms of in ring ability, however he could also draw money, that's why he was far more successful.

My whole family watches wrestling now 4 times a week. We are big time into wrestling. Yes, Benoit should have a chance for the title and when the time is right he will be given the opportunity. Right now though he is dealing with Vickie Guerrero and Chavo so the time is not right for him.

He's the United States champ on SmackDown currently, so if he gets the tag title, most likely the US championship would be deactivated(again).
