What if you get a calendar for her and a calendar for yourself. You then unwrap the calendars and write weekly dates in it for you and Nana to spend some time together, such as Jan. 8th 4:30 pm: "cookie baking", "book share" or "family photo album time". The same dates will be in both calendars. This way you can start spending more time together. I would wrap both calendars, then explain your idea to her. I bet she will appreciate it.

Maybe a family gathering would be nice, just to atleast give her the oppertunity to socialize with the rest of the family, and during the family gathering you can play a few family games and just have fun!

I made my grandma some homemade glasses "leashes"...so she can hang her reading glasses from around her neck.
All you need to do is buy a cheap glasses "leash" and cut off the end thingees...or most craft stores sell them. Buy some beads and make a creative colorful 28 inch long string and attatch to the "thingees" and there you go...a creative, heartfelt christmas gift for granny!

I would suggest you'd give her something she couldnt really keep all to herself or put away just like other "things"
So it would have to be something alive, something like a bird, maybe a parrot, a cat or a dog, something alive that would make her socialize and have her talking to you guys about it and also get her attention and keep her active...

Make her a cookbook with some of your favorite recipes.
That way she can cook and read (which I can tell she immensely enjoys) at the same time! :)
Woot!

Well, if you don't really wanna make a cookbook, here's some food for thought:
Christmas Gifts For Grandparents
Christmas is the time to share love with your near and dear ones and don't forget the elderlies you have longingly run to, year after year, for that expensive sport gear or scrumptious delicious homemade Christmas cake made by your grandma that you loved so much. Christmas gifts is just an opportunity to make your grandparents feels that they are still loved and cared for and you still count them in as a member of the family. However, most aged people won't care much on tiny decorative pieces that they can't even see clearly. It will be wiser to find something that they can really use and enjoy. Here are some Christmas gift ideas for grandparents that you can safely use:
Don't think that old people have no love for life. You will be surprised that a travel package can delight your grandparents as much as your kids. However, choose one that offers ample amount of rest and more comforts. Places where medical facilities are readily available are better for elderlies that have heart conditions or other medical problems.
You never realize the real truth behind 'Health is Wealth' until you are old and your body is rounding off to retirement. So, this Christmas, gift a health check instrument to your grandma and grandpa such as instruments to check blood pressure and blood sugar at home.
You can also buy a healthcare certificate for them with the local agencies that provide monthly, bi-monthly and annual checkups regularly.
If your grandparents live in other city, you can make their Christmas last all the year round by asking volunteers to visit them regularly to eliminate their loneliness and doing their errands. Such services cost a very nominal fee and in case of an emergency, they can just contact you and take care of your grandparents while you are on your way.
Your grandma will love roses and fresh flowers as much as your boy/girlfriend, so try them this Christmas.
If one or both of your grandparents are foodies, gift them chocolates, cakes, pastries and other items that they can suck upon fondly or chew easily, even if they have no teeth.
Grandparents with weak eyes or hearing ability will love eyeglasses or hearing aids for Christmas gift.

get her a "Zondervan" King James Version audio Bible on CD's that's dramatized and has background sounds,it is awesome I'm 27 and I love it when I'm too tired to read God's Word I can listen to it whenever,at home, while commuting to work, longer commutes.
Get that audio Bible for her and both listen to it day by day,..make a special time for her and you meditating on God's Word by doing this,..you'll not only help her spirit/soul but also your own since God's Word is like food but for our souls.
GOD Bless & Merry Christmas!!!
Oh you can buy it at any local book store/christian or not, they can order it or you can buy it from amazon.com or ebay.com or zondervan.com

a family portait- a bowlanpitcher- her favorite lotion set-cologne set- whatever you decide to choose allow it to come from the heart. perhaps a homemade gift would be ideal for this situation. good luck.
