If you are a local administrator, just go to Add/Remove programs in the control panel, find anything "Norton" and remove it.

If it will not let you do this, then it sounds like the installation was corrupted in the first place.

I have had to uninstall Norton Antivirus and had no problem at all - just follow through the normal uninstall process, and you should be fine - sometimes you have to restart an extra time to make it totally removed...

it will let you uninstall the norton antivirus if you don't like paying for it after the trail period ends. You can install and uninstall any program you like, except the virus.

Yes they will let you, that just made it so it is not easy. Dell is in bed with Nortons & many othe compaines. When you finally do get rid of it, anytime you need the resintallitoon CD it will put it right back on. It is not just Dell tho, HP, SONY, they all do it.

See your other post. Yes, Dell doesn't care if you uninstall Norton. I am guessing you have the trial and didn't pay for it since you are trying to get rid of it.

Your first mistake was buying a Dell....next time get someone who knows a thing or two about computers to build/design one for you. Not only will it run better and not be clogged with all that 3rd party crap Dell puts on there but it'll cost less too.
