Well, hiccups are caused by gulping air. That is why when we eat sometimes we get hiccups because we get too much air into our esophagus. Here are a few thoughts.
Do you chew gum? If you are opening your mouth you may be sucking in to much air.
Another problem is more serious. It is a medically related problem and you should see your doctor.

I dont know why you would be getting them so often,
but I can tell you how we get rid of them. (Everytime)
You will need a straw and a glass full of any non-
carbonated bevy. Put each of your thumbs in your
ears and your index fingers on each side of your
nose. The idea is to completly seal off these 4 openings.
When this is done, you simply drink the bevy thru
the straw as fast as you can without taking a breath.
By the time you need to take a second breath, the
hiccups will be gone. Try it you will see

I usually have good luck by taking a spoonful of sugar and putting it in my mouth and then drinking a glass of water while holding by breath.

I also have tried drinking water from the wrong side of the glass. I don't know why it works, but it seems to. You have to bend over in an awkward position and drink the water from the opposite side that you usually do. Oh, be prepared to get wet.

Recently I was watching this emergency ER show when a girl came in with hickups driving her crazy, more driving her BF crazy cause he was a real ***, anyway, the doc asked everyone and tried everything but nothing worked, finally he found out somehow about some deal where you simply rub the patients forhead between the eyes some certain way and BAM the girl quit hickuping! Everyone was thrilled! but it was somewhere on her forhead, like a message!

Get a water bottle that has a top that you suck out of. (not a nalgene) Stand up and put your head under your legs. Then drink out of the water bottle and the hiccups are gone.
