does anyone know what the impact was and what jefferson did regarding this event? hurry quick

It was one of the greatest real estate deals in the history of the world--Jefferson's commissioners to France were prepared to buy New Orleans for $15,000,000, and when the French government offered the entire territory (which included not only the area of the state of Louisiana, but at least portions of what are now the states of Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, North and South Dakota, Texas, and Minnesota, just to name a few) for the same price (worked out to about three cents an acre!), well, you can see why.

Imagine waking up one morning to find your country had essentially doubled in size!

Jefferson sent two delegates to France to buy just the Port of new Orleans but when they were Finlay seen buy the emissary of Napoleon they were offered the french claim in the untied states for15 million dollars Jefferson told them to take the deal even before congress even knew what was going on but he knew once they knew what he was getting they would approve it gave us over 2/3 of the usa today

the impact was that the us got a huge hunk of land, maybe it was during jeffersons presidency
