It depends on how you get the information. If you are using encryption and/or a proxy, they cannot tell what pages you are seeing.

For example, if you browse through TOR, TOR will route your Internet traffic and encrypt it so that the ISP (or anyone else viewing the traffic) can tell what the information is, where it's coming from, or where it's going to.

If you are just doing normal web browsing, then can see everything. Some secure web pages are encrypted by themselves, so they won't know what is in the pages, but they can still tell where you are getting them from.

They can and it's supposed to be confidential, but the RIAA and MPAA (recording and movie instudries) somehow get this data.

They won't arrest you unless you upload a lot, but you can hide any surfing activity by usnig a proxy. Google "free proxy" to protect yoru privacy.

You can configure Firefox to always work through the proxy if you wish.

Email me if you need help or this doesnt make sense. I really don't see the point in the whole proxy thing but some like their privacy.

Yes they can, if they want. However, if some legislation goes through in Congress, they may HAVE to keep 2 years worth of data on all of the sites you have visited.

If you are web browsing or using filesharing, you can do this all through a proxy server, making online activites anonymous. Even tho going through your ISP is faster.
