can u get cable from 1 company and Internet from another company using the same cable lines?

i currently have cox cable at my house because it is included in my rent. my question is can i keep my cable but get a different internet provider. i dont know if both companies can use the same cable lines in my house

Nope you cannot do that. It's different lines/systems/coding they use....
They will install a different cable. Ask Cox to add the internet to your package...

Although you can use your phone line to receive high-speed internet using DSL.
