I dislocated my shoulder while playing hockey and I had arthroscopic surgery..then I reinjured it playing baseball and had open surgery. I'm on my third month of therapy and the doctor said I could probably play contact sports after 6 months.

I know the risk of falling and messing it up again so...do you think he'll let me snowboard if I'm careful?

aww, i know you're probably dying to snowboard, i know what you mean. if you're really good, you wouldn't fall on your shoulder or fall in a way that you'll need to support yourself with one arm.

if you're a newbie, don't even think about it. but if you're really good, go for it, but stay on the green trails and no tricks!!!

Why risk further messing up your shoulder? Wait it out. Patience is the epitome of maturity.

If you were my patient, I would strongly try to discourage you from taking that risk by explaining how probable it would be that you could go back to square one. Remember how fun your rehab was initally? Do you want to go through that again? Make good choices when it comes to your health.

You probably shouldn't do it but a doctor can't stop you from doing it Maybe the doctor will say yes, job security.
