Actually- per IRS if you have lived apart for 6 months and have a divorce into the court system that will be final in January, then THEY will consider you "single" for tax status.
Feel free to use this "loophole" in case you need to be single for any other reason:o)

A couple is married until the Judge signs the divorce papers in court and it is sealed(finalized) Until then, the couple is married, regardless of if they are separated or anything else.

Legally or morally? Legally yes so you cannot get married to someone else until the divorce goes through. Morally, I believe as soon as the two of you have separated, then you are free to choose your own way and are no longer bound to the traditions of marriage such as living together and sharing finances.

Until you're divorce is finalized, you are still considered married, but legally seperated.

You would be married but seperated. It is recognised that you are seperated, coz during this time it would not matter if you started dating some one or have been with someone. In other words, it would not be considered cheating if you are having a relationship with some one at this juncture..

If I understand correctly (myself not yet married, but will be soon), I believe there's a state of separation between marriage and divorce, so you're not exactly married, but your not exactly divorced yet.

Ys, but at this situation most of the couples already date and split properties just before they get divorced...that is why it looks like they are not legally bonded

you should have a more advantageous suited reason then him waiting till his divorce is very last previously bringing you round to pals and kinfolk. i am going to ensure why he does not opt for to do it right away on the heels of a divorce. If issues are otherwise good then provide him slightly time.
