Do you think we should engage in talks with Iran and Syria, as the report on Iraq suggests, even though, while you are reading this, the terrorist groups are celebrating the same report as a Jihad victory, and one leader was quoted as saying "the only things left to do is destroy Israel and defeat the Americans on thier own soil"?

Jim Baker, Bush Sr.s man and a famous Republican was the voice behind that remark. He said you don't negotiate with your friends, you negotiate with those you disagree with. Without a regional agreement, no resolution in Iraq is possible is what the study group said.

Yes. Bush keeps refusing because he is aware, as we all are, that they endorse and supply arms to our enemies and encourage terrorists and violence against us, and no doubt funnel funds to those terrorists, along with their nuclear proliferation in Iran's case. That is a fine and noble way to feel, that we not consort with what amounts to the enemy. But, we are in their backyard. Yes, I know about the terrorists and I wish every last one of them a very painful death. But it's time to face the fact that Iran and Syria are going to get officially involved whether we like it or not. So we can stand tall and invite diplomatic talks for resolution suggestions or we can thumb our nose at them both and invite a more complicated war situation than we face already.

The committee is right about one thing - we can't keep ignoring the offer of regional talks, and it ought to include members of the UN and the European Union, and representatives from all of our allies. A high profile series of diplomatic talk sessions would be watched around the world. It serves us more than hurts us. If Iran and Syria become difficult and outrageous, as they tend to do, the entire world will be closely attuned and those countries in attendance can bond together to speak as one voice against them. That is the kind of combined strength that helped the Allies win two world wars, and we could use a return to that sort of cooperation between countries of the world.

I think you're as confused as GW Bush about the differences between War and Terrorists.

The US should talk to any country about anything they want to talk about. What the US does next is another story.

No, it would be the biggest mistake ever made! They are the ones who are paying, and supporting, the Terrorists in Iraq. The Politicians who suggested this are either Stupid, or want the USA to lose the War on Terror, to the Terrorists.

Why do you worry about Israel? Joining the Israel military would be a good start to defend Israel.
