Would you consider Antigone to be a tragic hero? Why or why not?

Qualities of a tragic hero:
1. of a high rank or station in life/exceptional person
2. possesses a tragic flaw of some kind
3. calamaty befalls him because of a choice made related to that tragic flaw
4. the calamaty causes a fall from station that inspires fear and pity in the audience

So--based on those general qualities, what do you think?

Yes, because she tries to do what she believes is right (burying her brother), but in the end, dies (Buried alive - suicide)
