Is Autolite equal( same manufacturer) as Motorcraft?? i am driving a 2.5L Ford contour, in the autolite web site, they claimed that spark plug can make a difference on car's performance. Is that true? Do a more expensice spark plug usually give a better performance or longer life??

Not necessarily. I also own a repair business as well and have changed plugs on Kia's that use $15 plugs and replaced them at 40-45K miles with Double platinum $5 Autolites and they all run great. No difference in drive-ability or power and my customers are quite happy. I couldn't believe the bright gold voltage leaks near the hex on all of them at such low mileage. I only seem to find the high-end plugs in foreign vehicles and many have caused misfires by 40K miles. Where as the cheaper plugs I have seen go well past 100K without being changed. Save your money and get either motorcraft or Autolites and the car will run great.

For a daily driver, you would never notice a difference unless you are comparing a fouled plug to a new plug. It really only matters if you are driving a high performance car and dealing with increased temperatures in the engine due to higher static compression or effective compression from a boosted application. The maintenance & condition of your engine will have a bigger impact on the life of the plug than the plug itself. Although some plugs are more tolerant than others.

They are both Ford made. There will not be much difference between those 2. But high performance plugs will give you just that - better performance.

I have to agree with DodgeMan.I've been following his input for a
few months here.I agree with most of his answers..
MotorCraft is a division of FoMoCo as I know it.
Autolite is a top of the line competitor.Quality product.
And,yes, good products generally produce better results.
