I have a HP desktop. Every now and then my computer freezes. I don't know why. I try pushing on CTRL +ALT+DELETE but the Task Manager doesn't pop up. It stays the same.
I turn off my computer and then turn it on and run my virus scan, no virus.
I run my anti-spyware program, no spyware.
What is wrong?
I reformated my computer twice already and I don't want to do it another time. It takes up my time.
Help? Please?

The reason you have that problem make sure the VIDEOCARD is connected till the end. Also the RAMS.
If you have PCI videocard, put it to another slot...
If you AGP, just take it out and clean it with AIR or something...
Dust can cause problems sometimes.
P.S. POWER OFF when you do this!

But I don't get it. I understand the Dust part but not the others?

There may be many reasons for this problem. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

Try de-fragging your hard drive. Also what size programs are you running? You maight not have enough memory to support them. Try deleting some old or unused files. Hope this helps.

:::Also Own a HP compaq

Since I'm working WITHOUT any virus scan software or whatever it's been better than ever.

Uninstall your Norton, MacAffe's and all that stuff.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
