What jobs that pay above the minimum wage, which are not connected to the fast food or retail sales industry, are available to a friend of mine who never finished high school. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but i wouldn't call him stupid either.

My brother never finished high school (nor did he get a GED yet) and he is a truck driver - and makes far more than minimum wage (and has also worked in construction and as a mechanic) - he's far more smarter than he thinks he is.

Well, I only graduated 5 years ago, i was a nerd but hey it was worth it , now i am a management fund officer and i have a great income for someone my age, and i few weeks ago i saw one of the popular girls, i used to know from high school, at the shops, her hair was ruined and she was holding two kids,,and she was yelling at them the whole shop could hear her. i wanted to go say but i didn't. later i saw , her walk of with another man, depression i what i saw in her. It really shocked me and i now come to think that is what happens to "the populars" after high school, they don't graduate they don't go to uni, and they become drug addicted . :(

Construction pays really well, road construction, for instance. Or, if he has cojones enough to get a GED he can be a truck driver, which takes some brains, for sure, but if he can drive a car, he can learn to drive a truck.
