I have noticed stars are wearing black nail polish and it looks great on them....do u think it looks good? and if so what are the conditions you can wear it in? Long nails/Short Nails? Gloss/or No gloss? I think i may go for the black nails, but i don't want it to look stupid....i want it to look like Hilary duffs or Lindsay Lohans...how do i go about getting those kinds of results from home??

The moment Chanel created Black Satin nailpolish it became chic to wear black nails!!
You need to keep them short and neat (chipping looks goth-unless you want that look). And match your nails and toenails.
If you can't find Chanel's black satin (as it's sold out everywhere) I suggest trying OPI's Black Satin or Lincoln Park After Dark (It is a purple black-a bit easier to wear than black). And I believe in definately having the gloss! HELLO the shimmer adds to the chicness of the polish. Matte is dull and would make your nails simply look dirty and a mess. Check the celebs they use a topcoat!

Definitely short nails. I think all nails look good with a gloss, like a top coat. That's how I wear them. I've started wearing the black polish now and then now. It makes me feel a little rebellious.

I like wearing black. China Glaze or OPI is good nail polish. Darker colors usually look better on shorter. I wouldnt go put it on long... you might look like a witch. If you want the color to last alittle while, put a clear top coat over it. If you dont, the paint might chip and wear off faster.

I think it looks best on shorter nails and I think what you are seeing is not actually "black" polish but something very dark like blackberry. I like gloss.

short nails would be the best. if u have long nails try to cut them a bit. black nailpolish is an ok color. there are cuter colors though! bu gloss and black arent exactly the best combination. good luck!

Ok well at my school the style is short fingernails black nail polish and its not glossy. I think it can look good on anyone. You should totally try it!

I wear balck nail polish. I think it looks awesome. [ON SHORT NAILZ] No gloss. And im not sure about Hilary's or Lindsay's ut just paint them regularly.

well, personally, i really think that if you wear black nail polish with long nails, you look like a witch, but if you have short nails and the polish is glossy, your nails would look fab!!!

I'm not into the black nail polish. Kind of reminds me of younger girls and boys who are just trying to fit in with the "cool crowd" or something. I don't find it sexy or fabulous.
