I don't even want to ask you how you managed to back over your computer with your dads truck. (As that is neither here nor there).

Sounds like the pc is beyond repair. Plus it would probably cost you more money to try and repair then to purchase a new laptop.

My only professional suggestion to you is that you be a man and tell your parents the truth. Accidents happen in life.

Hope that you have really understanding parents and will purchase you another computer.

Some times we have to learn from a road of hard knocks. If you get a new computer from your parents, don't make the same mistake again.

Good luck to you.

If youre lucky you could have only damaged the case, and a few components.
If youre intent on trying to cover it up, then heres what youre going to have to.

See what components are still functional.
Mainly the Hard drive..as that will allow you to use the cover of you wanted to build a new machine to see if you could.

If the hard drive is intact, then youre in business.
So Id say for time factor sake...pop your hard drive nto aother comouter as a slave and see if its working

if that is, then proceed to either checking the parts individually.
if they all still work, then all youll need is a case and maybe a power supply.

so basically youre just building around a hard drive that has all the original data. There might be hope for you afterall -- as long as the hard drive is intact

It sounds like you have an ex computer, there really is not much you can do about it except buy a new one or try to make up some unbelievable excuse like "Hey dad, guess what, an Elephant escaped from the zoo and came in our house, look what he did to the computer, he trampled all over it"
But you can post this so you obviously have a spare one.

First off, say a prayer. Secondly, I have to ask how in the hell the computer got into a postition where it was under your dad's truck? Likely you at the very least cracked the motherboard. there's no fixing that. It needs replaced. Take the computer to a repair professional.

How did the computer get into a position for it to be run over by a truck?

Think about the only thing you can do at this point is bite the bullet and tell your folks what happened, and start saving up for a new one.

First I need to ask....Did you do it on purpose? How in the heck could you run over a computer?
Second, you have to tell your parents and work out something with them.

This is your mom and dad. You are in big trouble when we get back. You won't even be getting a bucket of coal for Christmas.
