it's a time to recognize what is important in my life. to spend time with family. to have traditions. it gives my father a reason to say i love you. (he's not a very emotional creature he isn't good at expressing his emotions verbally) we exchange gifts but it's my dad's way of expressing his love. we celebrate the gift of eternal life and retell the story of joseph and mary and jesus coming into the world. (even though we know it's not actually the time of year it happened) my kids and i go to mass on christmas eve together. my sisters and i actually cook together (even though one can't even cook lol) it's important because it's the only time of year the entire family actually gets together and (generally) gets along.

The holidays mean more traffic jams, increased crowds at the store, irate drivers taking out their frustrations on everyone else, higher prices for the same old same old, lines lines and more lines, more junk mail selling stuff I don't want, irritating people pandering for money for the season of giving, louder television commercial that wake me up when I'm dosing off on the couch, and well you get the picture. I can't wait till it's all over.

Depends... which holiday? I celebrate Christmas. And while I'd love to bullshit you and say all i care about is Jesus and the birth of gods son and such.. the most important thing to me is being with my family and friends.. Celebrating the fact that we have each other.

A spot in the year that is so officially and commercially there to feel warm and fuzzy inside that I will plainly refuse to do so.

Aside from all the work...not a whole lot. I'm always glad when they are over. It's all about shopping anyway.
