My family has 5 cats and an african grey bird...also, my boyfriend's parents have two cats, two dogs, and a goldfish. Any ideas for cheap Christmas presents for all of them? If I have to make some things then that's cool too :).

hmm.. they have little gift sets at walmart for like $5 that come with tons of toys get that and a bag of catnip to evenly distribute among the 5 in one house.. um, get the dog a big bone for a few bucks, and for the house with 2 cats I'd say a bag of treats and a 2-pack of toys. If you go to walmart for all that stuff you'll be spending like $15 max... and they have goldfish pellets for like a buck. If you want to make gifts.. make cat nip bags. buy a big bag or container of organic cat nip (like $5) and buy some cute christmas fabric to make it with. Good luck and happy holidays!

I've heard that birds like some dried fruits. If yours doesn't get that very often, Christmas would be the perfect time for a special treat. Does the goldfish have plants or decorations in his (or her or its) bowl? My sister's fish liked to hide in the plastic fern in its bowl, and enjoyed swimming back and forth through a little tunnel decor that my sister'd put in there for it. If the dogs are fairly good-sized, a knotted jeans leg makes an excellent chew and tug toy. I guess a knotted leg of little kids' jeans would do for a little dog. For a tiny dog (under 10 lbs) a knotted gym sock would work well. You can get used jeans at a thrift store fairly inexpensively, if you don't have any around the house. The dogs might also enjoy a well-cooked bone or two, as long as it's a kind that ok for them to have. For the cats, anything you can put catnip into would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure. Be very careful, however, to store the catnip and those presents containing catnip in a completely cat-proof container. They can't read the calendar so they won't wait. I think it's fun to get animals presents, too, even if they don't understand the whole reason behind it; I do, and I'm the one giving the present.

John C. was right about the Dollar Store--but if you wanna get a bit cutsey for the kitties---buy baby socks and fill them with catnip! Sew them closed at the top and the kitties will be in love!!
If you have the time you can try to make the toes look like mice faces (I never do cause they just chew all the decor off!). Pups always love a chewy and you can get a big bag at the dollar store. I've never gotten a fish anything!! (I'm sure there's some
kind of fish treat tho), and just a little cage toy for the African
Gray. We always buy our "furry kids" Christmas presents!!

Check Petco or Petsmarts websites. Cats really like those plastic fishing poles with a feather on the end. But get one with a wide handle so it's comfortable to hold. Not sure what birds, like but I heard they like mirrors. However, the bird maybe already have one.
For the dogs, I saw this one toy, a lady in our community had it so I don't know where she got it. It's a rubber ball with a big rubber tongue. You use the tongue to throw the ball, then you needn't get nasty dog spit all over your hand. When the dog has the ball in his mouth, the big tongue sticks out and it looks hilarious. For the fish, a new castle or decoration for the bottom of the tank. Or some plastic plants.

My aunt's cat had a birthday party a little while ago (weird I know =) And I got her cat this toy that hangs over the door with a string attached. The sting is made out of elastic and moves and bounces when the cat grabs it.It's really good for kittens because then the pet can play with out someone holding the string. Also my cat never really did like scratching posts but we got her a cheap cardboard one and she loves it. The brand name is "Bzzy-Kitty" I have no idea for birds. Good luck=)

Pets really dont care about Christmas gifts, but if you must. Make a basket with nibbles and snacks for each family. LIttle pouches of kitty snacks, or dog treats, unsalted peanuts for the parrot, maybe a catnip toy or two.
