I wear an apron and I dont consider myself a housefrau. I wear it so I dont get food on my clothes. I original bought one cause my grandmother always had one in her kitchen. and to me it just seem as though it is one of the supplies you get when you outfit your kitchen. There are some cute ones and fabulous one too.

I'm not a housewife, but I do cook a lot. Rather than wear an apron to protect nice clothes from flour and grease, I just wear an old pair of jeans and a t-shirt I don't care about. Same thing when I do spring cleaning. Although, maybe if I were having a dinner party or Thanksgiving I would wear a cute apron.

I have only worn an apron on a holiday when I've been cooking a large meal. The apron was an accent to my clothes as well as practical. I am a member of Fly babies and I just ordered a denim long vest with pockets from there web site to do pretty much what an apron use to do. I can wear it over any of my clothes while I clean or cook, but still look trendy and keep my clothes underneath clean. Personally I don't see aprons coming back and I don't think they are "cute" for everyday wear. Just my opinion.

I'm a "housewife" I rather call it a "stay at home mom" though, I have aprons, but I always forget to wear them until something splashes on me. But if I could remember to wear it I would wear it every time I cooked.
But only for cooking, I know in the 50's women wore them all day long for all their house wor. I dont think this is a great idea, but that could be because back in the day aprons were more of a clothing fabric and article, today they are made of thicker material that isnt meant for all day wearing, just for cooking.

If the woman is going to let the man rule her and suck up butt then maybe she would wear an apron. I think wearing an apron should be when your messing with flour for baking or something. Not all the time!

Aprons on holidays only. They serve two purposes. One: they cover up your clothes so they don't get messy from all day cooking. Two: they are festive when you wear one with the specified holiday on it.
Aprons are very cute.
