That depends on your goals. If you want to learn Tango to be able to dance a littlle bit (socially or on occasions like weddings and such) then sure by all means. As far as social dancing goes, or being able to dance it on occasion, it is all the same what you learn first, or if you learn anything besides it - Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot, Vienneeze Waltz you name it. If your goal is to be good at dancing Ballroom I recommend learning Waltz and Foxtrot at the same time or before Tango. This will give you better foundation which in turn will result in better movement.

Tango dancers don't bite rose stem for a first.
It's a ballroom dance. One of the more difficult one to learn. If you take up modern ballroom, you are likely to learn the danes in this order or difficulty.

Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz

Yes, it is, especially the Argentine Tango. It's a sensual and emotional dance to learn though. You have to be into the music, and enjoy the improv that comes along with it. Dancing tango doesn't require previous experience, even though it would help on flexibility and musicality. Anyway, I am mumbling again, wish you luck on learning.

Argentine tango and the ballroom styles are quite different. If you're interested in Argentine tango and think you might be happy with that primarily, especially if you have a friend wanting to take you to a milonga, go right ahead. But for the bare-bones basics in ballroom, I'd wait till the second or third hour, at least.

Tango is very out of beat. It would be difficult for you to follow but you could give it a try. Reason is aside from it's beat, the steps are jerky and big, and practising the dips and leg wraps would take some time to master.
Good luck!

any kind of dance would be easy to learn if you put your heart into it. just a little info, i've learned that tango used to be a dance of competition. it's not really a positive, loving relationship of the couple but it's more of fighting.

Go for it at first, but keep in mind it will be difficult. Maybe learn some Swing as well to get used to maintaining flexible in choreography.

ITs worth the try. you'll always be a begineer if you try it for the first time. do you mean dancing for the first time ever? or just a new routine? try it anyways. you have nothing to lose

I don't think so. Try something simpler like chachacha. Good luck!
