I noticed in recent years when Democrats talked about ending the war in Iraq Republicans called them cowards and accused them of wanting tio cut and run. Now Republicans are saying exactly what the Democrats were saying a year ago, how Iraq is a disaster, and we need to pull out.
Yet the Republicans feel thier view is not 'cut and running'. What is with the double standard?

It is not Republicans saying cut and run. It is the Baker Surrender Group. A BI-PARTISAN Group, made up of dems and republicans, and none of the members have any practical military strategy experience. In my estimation, they are completely wrong in calling for a withdrawal. They should be recommending reinstating the draft, and sending a massive army into Iraq. Just the mention of doing that would have the troublemakers packing up their camels and heading out of the country. This war would be over in a week, and Iraq would be secure in a year.

Republicans communicate about democrats being in l. a. l. a. Land and failing to work out the reality, being naive, no longer in a position to appreciate truth. which could be authentic in some cases, yet no longer like it truly is interior the republican party. you may tell and tutor with information, that republican presidents traditionally spend more beneficial than democrats. it doesn't matter one iota to republican beliefs. it truly is a truth republicans advance the federal authorities, an identical one they tell their base the democrats will enhance if elected. The GOP throws that prevalent tax reduce bone out to the bottom each and every election and then proceeds to blow up the nationwide debt. Republicans continually demonize democrats as tax and spenders at the same time as they themselves are borrow and spenders. This bailout, the abode republicans does no longer bypass the unique crap sandwich as Rep. Boehner called it, yet once loaded with purple meat and tax breaks for company u . s . a . of america, the crap sandwich grew to grow to be a lot extra palatable and the so called monetary conservatives interior the abode gave it their blessing. I do only not realize/understand the way election after election the GOP get such quite some human beings to vote adverse to their own perfect pastimes even with the information slapping them interior the face that they by no skill do what they say, and worse they do precisely what they demonize democrats about. Six years republicans held all of authorities, which of their warm button subject matters did they positioned to relax at the same time as in administration? Even socializing company u . s . a . of america's losses received't shake their beliefs, it really is fantastic.

Ha! You hit the nail on the head. NOW everybody acknowledges we are losing the war, even NEW Defense Sec. Gates.

Since the only thing we accomplished was to destabilize the region and weaken ourselves militarily, we ought to pull out.

You called it right a year ago, but the country was deaf, dumb and blind.

Think how many lives and how much $ we could have saved, if only people thought things through.

I take it you have never heard some of us complaining about the cut and run republicans. We did get a republican majority but to many were rinos, they spent to much they would not vote or push conservative bills and now a lot of them are gone.Mine (senator and congressman) are both conservative but we do have one dem congressman from the state. If the republicans had been conservative they would still be in majority. After all most of the new Dems ran as conservatives.

Poo poop dee do.......... I think that MAYBE it's because they don't want to have to fight the war by themselves.

I just don't understand why they don't enlist all of their children and outfit them as mercenaries if they feel that strongly about winning though.

I think our nation would bless them and be grateful if the Republicans all spent their own fortunes and sacrificed all for the love of our country!

Does anyone else think so? *kiss*

because when republicans call for the withdraw...the mission has been accomplished. When democrats withdraw, only 50% of the job has been done.

there has been no talk of ending the war before stability and turning over the situation to the Iraq's. which they should be able to do in another year or so.

If the thought comes out of a democrat's head, what else do you expect except cut and run from a liberal.

If the thought comes out of a republican's head, it's a sound strategy for "peace with honor" or whatever phrase that will be used in place of mission failure.

A bunch of hypocrites.

for the very same reason that Bush has said that we no longer refer to the "hungry" as just that, but to refer to them as people with "food insecurity". well, actually there is no good reason. Its just the way they do things.
