The land plans and animals were somewhat homogenous during pangea time.

Ocean ecosystems run the globe, and these are mainly found in shallow waters. When there is a supercontinent, the amount of shallow water is reduced, so diversity and abundance decreases globally. Along with the Permian ice age, there is lower diversity and abundance until the Triassic-Jurassic when rifting of Pangea creates new shallow oceans.
