Is it because of corporations and our selfish ways. Greediness and that we have to have everything at discount price to satisfy us?

We are powerful now but we cannot stay powerful forever. Look at Germany, USSR and others. No country can be number one and the US is trying to be. I live here but I disagree with every political issue brought up. Im not a liberalist but the corporations in America are way too rich, thus we fight wars over oil. Don't bullshyt me that we aint over there for that main purpose. Bush is a slimebag and he should be hung right next to Saddam.

There are a lot of reasons why some people in other countries hate us. They don't like the religion, they don't like the lack of religion, they don't like the free-spending, wasteful ways.

Also, the US acts in its own best interests -- sometimes that's not in the world's best interest, and other times it's just not in that other country's best interest.

Also, there are false expectations set up. Some people look on the US as a savior-figure -- when they come into the country, everything is going to be wonderful, everyone will have chocolate bars and milkshakes from McDonald's and a great big car. But, when these things don't get fulfilled, they get very resentful, and turn on the US for not giving these things. I know it's unreasonable, but I'm sure you've seen this kind of thing happen with people you know. There's an old country song that goes, "I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden." That's what the US is singing to these countries -- they need to take some responsibility for themselves.

OK, but that said, many people in other countries LOVE America. They love Hollywood, they drink Coke and eat out at Kentucky Fried Chicken. They love the freedom they see in the movies, they love the beats they hear in the songs. They love the Bill of Rights, and the freedom it implies. They love the freedom they think the women have. They love the riches they think every man has. (-: And don't forget the wild, passionate sex every American is having!

What they hate is largely an illusion -- what they love is largely an illusion, too. Every country is made up of many different people -- some fit the international stereotypes, some are working to make a better nation. So it's hard to answer this question.

NO, it is because there are the self hating Americans living right here that just think we are terrible and ugly and mean and selfish and without cause, soooooooooooo......why not hate America, for she hates herself. Until people start to stand up for what we are, and who we are and what we have done great for the world, then no body else will. And as we keep getting hit in the belly and make no attempt to put a stop to such behavior we will one day be beaten to a blood pump and be a nation NO MORE>

We're ungrateful in the fact that most Americans live very sheltered lives and think it's normalcy.

We're irresponsible with our attitudes.

We tell the world on a nearly constant basis that we're the greatest country in the world. (C.O. Lewis Black)

I think our arrogance would make everyone hate us enough to begin with.

Because the comfortable American lifestyle depends on the suffering of others in poor countries. What is illegal in the American constitution, they do it elsewhere. Also, for them Money comes before Humanity. The Government funds killing of innocent families just for their business.

It's because the U.S. butts into every other country's business and tries to play the hero and boast about itself. It uses other country's then wants recognition for doing so.

because the US wants to control the world. Look at NAFTA.
The US portrays that is wants to help third world countries , but in reality it just wants to rape other countries to control them and make all the money.
