You are the parent. Letting a 5 yo eat as much as he can will set him on a course to obesity. If he must have food between healthy meals, give him a raw carrot. Takes a while to eat, is relatively healthy, and will give him a full feeling between meals.

First see if there is a medical continion that is causing this.....ask his peditrition.
if not then try to keep him busy, ans see if ihe is eating out of bordom, if that is not it, offer low calorie snacks like popcorn, cereal, or jello, not necessarly all the foods he likes, but things that are nutritions, also give apples, carrots, cerelry nice crunchy foods that take effort to eat, so he is fuller longer, also increase the amounnt of water, cool-aid like beverages to give that fuller fealling....
if in doubt though call his doctor, let him asnwer your question

Is he underweight? Have him checked to see if he has a tapeworm.
