The IUD is the most effective Birth Control out there. The older models were recalled after many women became pregnant ( 80's --early 90's)
They are now more effective than tubal ligation.
They DO NOT cause ectopic pregnancies they just don't prevent them so If you have had an ectopic pregnancy before this is not the birth control for you.
They DO NOT cause infection. They just make an infection harder to treat which can lead to infertility. This is why you MUST be in a monogamous relationship.
Mirena is known for causing lighter less painful periods and in 20% of women they get no period (me being one)
Para Guard Non hormonal and 10 yrs is known for causing heavier periods and crampier periods. On BOTH you might have irregular periods meaning skipping a period or two. Spotting should clear up after the 1st year of use. They are both safe for breastfeeding mothers. Your partner shouldn’t feel the strings but if he does you can have them snipped shorter or tuck them around your cervix.

The depo I hated it has to high of a hormone level that I went crazy lol. I spotted the whole 9 months, los hair gained weight
same with the patch just more subtle however on this I hemorrhaged
The Nuva ring what turned me off about it is the fact that if it happens to come out during intercourse or for any other reason and is left out of the body for upto an hour then its as if you were on no birth control
The pill was great however I took mine daily and at the same time yet I managed to get pregnant

Some would possibly recollect it an abortifacent due to the fact it prevents the implantation of a fertilized egg, and consequently might no longer use it due to the fact they're adversarial to abortion. BQ: No, I am no longer a candidate for an IUD due to the fact I have certainly not had youngsters.

I have used the pill and the patch. If you have a problem remembering to take your pill the patch is a good choice. However, they are discovering more serious side effects from the patch recently. Here is a bit of advice, I would not use an IUD if it was the last form of birth control on earth. My step sons Mother died due to the fact her IUD became infected which in turn made her body toxic and see died within two days (before Chhristmas). She thought she was sick due to food poisioning. Of course there is also the old condom choice. Hope this is somewhat helpful.

I have Mirena IUD and love it. The old IUDs have given the new ones a bad rep. It was an excellent choice for my husband and I. I had no pain getting it put in. No more heavy painful periods or PMS.

I have an IUD. I've had it since my son was born (3.5yrs ago) I love it. I have only had one period this whole time. I haven't had any side effects besides that and I couldn't ask for anything better than that.

There are only four reasonable options:
1. abstinence
2. vasectomy
3. condoms
4. NON-hormonal IUD

Everything else has the potential to cause serious health problems.
