It is suppose to be God's symbol/promise to man that he would never flood the entire earth again but latly it's been the symbol of gay pride...go figure

Biblically, God put a rainbow in the sky after the flood as a symbol of his promise to never again destroy the earth using water. So the rainbow is a symbol of hope and of promise.

Geez, what's with all the homophobia on here?

The rainbow mean many things to many people, but overall the rainbow represents hope. Hope that after rain there is sunshine, hope that there is love in the world, etc. Notice in many hospital wards there are rainbow decorations, it is meant to inspire and give people hope.

I think it's the symbol for gay people all over the world, kind of like purple represents the big fashion statement for gay men. My exboyfriend liked purple. That's why he's my ex.
