If you were ever to write a book with a goal of providing a myth for your country, what will you write about?

In the same way that Tolkien wanted to make a mythology for England,how will you go about writing a mythology for your country?

India Has its own old Mythology of Ramayana which is like Tolkien "lord of the rings" similar incidents and very many types of characters, and un usual incidents abound in Ramayana.
if i have to write a book today I would have to start from a race of very corrupt politicians and a hero go goes about fighting these thousand headed monsters, with the support of people who believe in truth and honesty.The finance minster would be a devil trying to torture people by squeezing the life out of ordinary people and feeding the strength to the corrupt devils to sustain them in their activity.

Another country of people hidden inside the mountains of the US. Alternate universes on the same Earth. Kind of like the String Theory with some of the 11 strings bumping into each other and connecting different worlds for an instant.
