My daughter has had a bump, on her right upper shoulder, close to the shoulder blade, since she was about 15 years old. I took her to the doctor then and he took x-rays and just told us that it would go away by the time she turned 18. I didn't notice it until she was 15, cuz she had long curly hair and you couldn't see it. When she put her hair up for a party, that's when we noticed it. It hasn't really gotten bigger and it doesn't hurt her, only when she uses that arm for strenuous activity, otherwise she is fine. About 1 year ago, I took her again to see my doctor, who specializes in bones. He took an x-ray of her right shoulder, but the x-ray showed nothing was there. He told us that she would have to do an MRI on her shoulder, cuz that can see all the bones in her shoulder. He also examined her knees and elbows, checking to see if she had any other bumps, which she didn't or he would have told us. She couldn't do the MRI, cuz she wasn't insured, she is 23 now. Should we be worried?

Could be a cyst or even a skin tag and both are harmless.

Is it on her bone or underlying the skin? My son was diagnosed with a semifirbatoma which is just a lesion under the skin they removed it and did a biopsy on it and everything was fine.

it is probably just a benign cyst
but i would think that her dr would want to remove it and do a biopsy just to be sure
