it depends, if the cancer has formed a tumor, then you have to surgically remove it. However, if it is only cancerous cells, then you have two options.
1.) Chemotherapy: Which is when the doctors inject a certain fluid into your body to kill off cancerous cells. However, chemotherapy is very strong and can kill your regular cells causing hair loss, nausea, weakness, joint-pain. Also chemotherapy is very psychologically traumatic.
2.) Radiation therapy: radiation therapy is when doctors send forth light, short radio waves, ultraviolet or x-rays, or any other rays for treatment or diagnosis or for other purpose. Radiation therapy, is used as a treatment for non-malignant conditions and/or cancer through the use of x-rays.

You can usually choose between the two or even both, but the choice is usually yours. In my opinion the best bet would be to go with chemotherapy.
