Can indoor house paint go bad?

I got some paint from the dump. It was a full can. When I opened it, it looked fine, but it smelled wierd. Just wondering if paint can get rancid?

Paint that has been frozen is now pretty much useless paint.
Might use it as a primer for concrete walls but it will not cover well.

Yes all paints can go bad.

I guess anything can go bad. If it smells that bad, take it back to the store you bought it from.

Yes if water gets into it.
