If it wasnt, youd die by bleeding to DEATH everytime you got a cut, even so much as a pimple would cause you to bleed out. Its true.

yes the blood is 7 times dencer than the water intpreting this in an experiment by putting 1/2 a glass of blood and 1/2 a cup of water and mixing them together. The blood would sing to the bottom of the fairly fast. in conclusion the blood weights more or is thicker or is dencer than the water it was mixed with VOTE FOR THE BEST VOTE ME

Yes, blood is thicker than water.
Water is just hydrogen and oxygen atoms in molecules. Blood is much more complex, it is actually a moving tissue in our bodies. Blood is about 82% water.
This is what human blood looks like under an electron microscope:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/82/SEM_blood_cells.jpg/482px-SEM_blood_cells.jpg
Those are all cells of different types (Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, and Platelets) each one is composed of atoms, like hydrogen and oxygen.
some of these answers are wrong:
Eventhough blood is denser than water it is still 82% water and therefore will dissolve. Think shark attack. Blood doesn't look like oil and water and it doesn't sink to the bottom of the ocean. It mixes with the water and turns it red.
Everytime we get cut, bleeding is stopped because of platelets, not because blood is so dense. (if that were the case we'd just bleed to death verrrry slowly like syrup.)
And the whole family bond idea is true ...

Yes. Blood consists of plasma, leukocytes, erythrocytes, phagocytes, etc. Water consists of hydrogen and oxygen. Blood can also be separated according to solid components and liquid. Water is simply liquid.

Yes, dense is a better words. But if you've ever felt water and if you've ever felt blood you would know.
Here is a little experiment for you.. alright here is what you need:
-A needle
-A bucket
-A water source
-Another bucket
Nevermind haha

that's a metaphore! it just means that people in your family and people you consider family you give all your love and support! and that 'family' should be the most important thing in your life, and the closest thing to your heart!
