I own the entire DVD collection, but I have limited time to watch it this weekend. I remember some years ago, a cable channel ran a scariest X-Files marathon based on view on-line voting. I would like to recreate that here to help me decide what to watch first.

Please submit the title of the episode if at all possible. Failing that, the season number and/or enough details to be able to figure out which episode it might be. (Try to avoid spoilers that give away the total plot, however.)

Then explain as well as you can why that episode is so frightening. One episode is excluded: "Home." That's my personal favorite so far. It's so creepy that I still get chills every time I hear Johnny Mathis sing "Wonderful" on the radio.

I hope to get a lot of different nominations with good explanations so that lots of people can use these results. And I'll let readers vote for the best answer so I can get even more information.

'Chinga'

Season five.

It's the creepiest one I can think of. Stephen King wrote the screen play which is about a haunted doll. Enough said.

Another favorite of mine is 'Detour', I'm not sure what season it's in though.

So far, from what I've watched, Eve is by far the creepiest. I truly hope no genetic evil cloning experiments such as this have ever been done or will ever be done!!! Watch the scene where Eve whatever number is talking in her cell. It is the creepiest thing on Earth and may make you a little bit more weary on the topics of genetic altering, cloning, selecting genetic traits, etc. It probably scared me most when she mentioned her surprising iq of 220, especially since it is accompanied by her severe psychosis and sociopathic tendencies, all of which run in her 'perfect' cloning family's genes. If I ever came across a family or person who had this combo I would run, FAST. This episode definitely has a moral lesson to it.

Detour, from season 5 (air date-11-23-97) Its the semi-invisible being in the Florida woods with the glowing red eyes. I totally thought that was creepiest. Yea, I own all 9 seasons too and don't get alot of time to watch them either. Season 5 was one of the best I thought, but I do love them all except one episode called "Home". The in bred crap makes me ill. I have a real hard time watching just that one episode it gags me for real! You know the one?
