Registered Nurse here; First let me assure you there is no reason to be embarrassed about your questions. They relate to your body, and it's a good thing that you want answers for your concerns. Yes, for some when starting there menstrual cycle each month, also leads to increased bowel movements. To my knowledge there is not a fact as to why this happens, but theory's being that some sort of hormonal change takes places and results in the females having more frequent bowel movements, but like you said not diarrhea. As for the back cramping, could be related to your cycle, or the way you have slept. or picking up something, or turning a particular way. All sorts of things from small to large can set of back pain.

Dont feel embarressed it is normal. It is weird that it just started however. Alot of woman call there period clean out time. And that is exactly what it is. Front and back. That is why I like to stay home all day cause you never know when you have to go. Your body is getting rid of all the junk. Back pains are normal as well and sometimes you wont get it I find that my period always change. Sometimes really bad cramps but a light flow. Sometimes the opposite. Same with back pains. I hope this has eased you some.

Completely normal. The back cramping is normal, the extra bowel movements are normal... be thankful you don't get the squirts, like a lot of people do! It's the hormones that are released when you hit that part of your cycle- they loosen up your system, specifically the smooth muscle that lines your digestive tract. As for the back pain, that's related to the cramping up front. Try a heating pad, or a heat wrap, a hot bath or a pain reliever.

You're fine! Sometimes when I get my period I have to go number 2 a lot more than usual. Also, your back cramping is totally normal too. I can usually tell I have my period by the way my back feels. You're totally OK and totally normal.

Yes I believe it is normal to go a lot, to me, that is the only good thing about having a period. Makes you feel somehow cleaned out. As far as cramps go, I use a hot water bottle, the water really helps.

AHHHH. yes its normal. some women use the bathroom alot some don't depends on their body. The back aches get use to them honey. Sometimes your feet will swell as well. I take Midol Extra Strength and you don't feel a thing. Tell your mom or dad to get that for you and take 2 you will feel great. or even Midol PMS and at night since its your first try sleeping with a heating pad. Good Luck. and Congrats on becoming a woman,

IT'S NORMAL!

please know that you are healthy and fine. during my monthlies, i crap so much that i cant even keep track of it!

to stop the cramps, EAT. my favorites are bread, pasta, chicken and potatoes. i dont know why but they just make me feel better.

also, drink WATER! for cramps and stuff, water just helps so much. ive tried soda, juice and this stuff called vitamin water cuz i thought the nutrients would help but, nope. water beats those guys out.

remember that you are losing calories cuz menstrual fluid is supposed to nourish a baby someday. insted, it's just making you tired and draning all the stuff you're eating.

to help with cramps, you could also have someone rub your tummy. it's the best feeling in the world!

I have the same problems when I get my period. I would say talk to a doctor so he/she can get you on birth control. It helps ease the back ache. Sorry you have to go through this. Good luck
