Well, you have to remember at the time Johnson gave that speech there was a lot of racial tension and upheaval going on.
This was only a few years after integration, this was on the cusp of the civil rights movement.
President Bush would try not to make racial discrimination an issue at all. We are in times now when a bit of common sense discrimination is necessary... We need to profile somewhat on airplanes or else we are putting the lives of the many in jeapardy in order not to offend a few.
So this is not his issue.

so many peop;e have SAid the war in Iraq was a mistake and we should abandon it pull our men out and sa to the hell with it same as we did in Viet Nam, we have tried integration for over 60 years and today there is more discrimination than ever was in the 50;s we have tried Affirmative action, preferential hiring practices , priority loans, priority housing, where a black can buy a $150.000 home with $450,00 dollars down and the real estate co, will pay the $450,00 for them and then the state will subsidize the payments , "IF IT IS IN A WHITE COMMUNITY; we have lowered our scholastic scores they can have a 50 and the white have got to have a 70 for the same grade, it still has not worked after 60 years there are even more on the welfare rolls today than then yet it has cost the American tax payer billions of hard earned dollars, one hell of a lot more than this war has, and has practically ruined our educational system and made us come in behind some 3rd world countries in engineering , science, techhnology, we came in in 5th place but yet I don't hear any of the P,C, crowd yelling to pull out of this quagmire why , and at the rate we are progressin on this idiotic course it will be another 300 years at least , but we won't be around that long, nor will our country,

Why would Bush say anything about discrimination today? He has been called the Devil, people in New Orleans accused him of being a racist and making that hurricane make landfall in new orleans. THey said he had the levees there blown up so that he could drown black people. If he said one word about discrimination, hed would be harrassed until the day he dies, and probably long afterwards. I would be surprised if the man did anything more to help our people. Americans have shown how much they can hate somebody in the past four years. Isn't it time to leave him alone? I can't wait till Hillary gets in office, it's gonna be so much fun.

Certainly nothing as powerful or meaningful as Pres. LBJ, who was a politician of good renown, as opposed to Bush, who is merely the scion of a rich and powerful family. Bush is a gnat on LBJ's butt. And I'm not even a huge LBJ fan.

well given the fact that his mother referred to African Americans and poor people in new Orleans as "those people", i would venture to guess he is blissfully ignorant of any racial issues in his little fantasy kingdom he calls "merica"

He would probably let you know it was illegal. Other than that, he probably doesn't give it much thought. He has enough money that it is not applicable.
