Do you think there are too many people on this planet now?
If the population keeps growing at it's present rate how many will live in your area in 50 years?

Should we try to limit the number of children being born?

yes there are to many people.
right now the population density is 80 people per sq mile,in Texas.
I was suprised to learn that in Sudan Africa has the same population density as Oklahoma of 44 per sq mile.
While the USA has 19 babies born per 1000 population.
Africa has 35 babies born per 1000 population the highest in the world. In the poorest, most starving region of the world.
what those people need is birth control.
They cannot feed what they have but they keep on having babies.

The world population is now more than twice what it was when I was born, more than three times what it was when my parents were born. I don't know how many is too many, but we sure are having a heavy impact on the environment and the survival of other lifeforms.
I have seen some studies through the years of populations of other species, it goes through a cycle. First, slow growth, then faster, the graph looks like the left half of a bell curve. At the top the growth rate slows, then drops like a rock. Lack of food, lack of water, disease, whatever the cause is, the population drops faster than it grew. If any of the species survives, the cycle will start again.
Right now the human population graph is near the top of the bell curve where the growth rate slows. It is yet to be seen whether or not we are smart enough to prevent a great crash.

I think it is getting overpopulated and I do think there should be a limit on how many children are being born before we destroy this planet.

the world is overpopulated, but they will start dying off soon what with wars, famine, disease, and global warming. Not a pleasant prospect.
