I am planning on purchasing final fantasy xll and i am wondering if it is as good as people say and if it is suitable for a gamer who has NEVER played final fantasy nor rpg at ALL

Final Fantasy X-II has nothing to do with the other Final Fantasies but it is an easy to follow game. It feels weird at first but you'll soon learn and like it. By the way the graphics and music are superb.

I am gunna have to differ from the answers of the people above me.....
I have been playing Final Fantasy games for awhile and while this one is GREAT I wouldnt say it was my favorite.
I'll start with the answer to your question..... It is suitable for a first time RPGamer. It is the easiest Final Fantasy to go along with to date..... You wont easily get lost or confused along the way.
The graphics are, obviously, the best to date which makes it very nice. Most of the characters have very strong, defined personalities that really drive the story but two of them I feel were just there to fill up the party.
I finished this game faster than any Final Fantasy I have played so far, so that was kind of a turn off. The end was very touching but it wasnt until the end that I felt any sort of connection to any of the characters.
It does have a different battle system from any other FF to date so if you start on this one and get used to it, then they revert to the original it might be a little odd, but who knows. The new battle system rocks once you get used to it not being the traditonal FF style, but you dont really have to worry about that with it being your first.
If you want a truly great FF game that still has the amazing graphics and characters to really connect to play Final Fantasy X.
If you want a great classic FF then of course you have to play VII which has been a favorite among many for a long time.
Now if you do pick FFXII you definately wont be disappointed. My review is based on my own personal experiences with FF games. Everyone is, of course, different.
I would recommend you buy this game though if you have been thinking about it for awhile and have your heart set on it. You wouldnt be disappointed. Your first Final Fantasy will always be your favorite no matter what. =)

It's one of the best games I've ever played. The great thing about the Final Fantasy franchise is each one has it's own story (with the exception of 10 and 10-2). With the new battle system, I think even people new to RPGs will enjoy it. Great graphics, good storyline, terrific gameplay, I give it a 10 out of 10, perfection!

As I die hard fan of Final Fantasy I will say any game that has Final Fantasy in its title is half way towards being good, you don't need to be familiar with the series each one is different to the last so enjoy.

it is an easy follow game even if u haven't played any final fantasy games yet. it has nothing to do with the previous ones. the game is awesome. it has awesome graphics and gameplay
