I am looking into getting a bachelors degree in management information systems and I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with this degree. How much money do you make....how hard was it to find a job. I have done research on the internet, but I am looking for real life experience.

Thanks,
Derek

If you go to a good school it's a good time IF (and this is the IF) you also have business experience. Get at least a minor if not a dual major in business. If you get an MBA after an MIS degree you can write your own ticket.

CIS/MIS grads are a dime a dozen... those that understand the business process are rare and in demand.

My experience is that this is a good time for MISs. A lot of companies are working to rebuild their IT staff, regardless of their offshoring plans. Depending on location and industry, you can reasonably expect something in the mid-upper $40s with a bachelors degree.

Hope this helps
